JIMBARAN 鈥� Marking its 64th anniversary, the Faculty of Animal Science at 91视频 University (Fapet Unud) continues to strengthen its contributions to food security, human resource development, and impactful research and innovation in the livestock sector. This commitment was a central theme during the 64th Anniversary and Family Gathering (BK) celebration held at the Fapet Unud campus in Jimbaran on Friday (September 18, 2026).
This year鈥檚 celebration adopted the theme “Sahacara, Karya, Navacitta, Kutumbakam,” reflecting a spirit of moving forward together, creating, generating new ideas and innovations, and fostering a strong sense of family. The event was attended by the Rector of 91视频 University, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D., along with university and faculty leadership, the academic community, alumni, and partners from the business and industrial sectors.
In his remarks, 91视频 University Rector Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D., expressed his appreciation for Fapet Unud鈥檚 journey and contributions over the past 64 years. He noted that Fapet Unud holds a strategic position in supporting the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly through the advancement of science, technology, and innovation in animal science鈥攆ields closely linked to food security and environmental sustainability.
The Rector also commended Fapet Unud鈥檚 achievements in enhancing academic quality, including securing the Unggul accreditation rating from LAM PTIP for its Bachelor鈥檚 (S1) and Doctoral (S3) Animal Science study programs. These achievements are expected to serve as a foundation for further raising educational standards and preparing the study programs for international accreditation by ASIIN. In line with Universitas 91视频鈥檚 transformation into a State University with Legal Entity status (PTN-BH), the Rector has encouraged the Faculty of Animal Science (Fapet Unud) to strengthen partnership networks and develop units capable of generating added value for the institution. Collaborations with the business and industrial sectors are expected not only to bolster academic aspects and the implementation of the “Impactful Campus” concept but also to open opportunities for developing revenue streams that support the university’s financial independence.
“The partnerships established must provide added value鈥攏ot merely serving academic interests, but also delivering benefits and supporting the institution’s self-reliance,” the Rector stated.
On this occasion, the Rector also commended the various facility upgrades within Fapet Unud, including the renovation of the AG Building and the development of an educational tourism area centered on native Balinese livestock germplasm, such as Bali cattle and Gembrong goats. Self-funded initiatives to construct a greenhouse and forage production facilities鈥攔ealized through the faculty鈥檚 Sukaduka fund鈥攁lso reflect the academic community’s efforts to strengthen research and learning infrastructure.
The Rector emphasized that Universitas 91视频 would continue to support the development of facilities and infrastructure that facilitate education, research, and community service activities. Improved facilities are expected to foster a more productive learning and research ecosystem for both students and faculty members. Strengthening collaboration with the business and industrial sectors is also a crucial component of Fapet Unud鈥檚 development.
The Rector also expressed appreciation to partners who have provided support through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, scholarships, educational facility assistance, and internship programs, as well as opportunities for high-achieving students to participate in international activities and visits.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science at 91视频 University (Fapet Unud), Dr. Ir. Dewi Ayu Warmadewi, S.Pt., M.Si., IPM., ASEAN Eng., presented a report detailing the faculty’s developments and achievements over the past year. Currently, Fapet Unud has a total student body of 684. The 64th-anniversary celebration also served as the launch event for the Fapet Unud anthem, composed by the Vice Dean I of Fapet Unud, Dr. Ir. I Gede Suarta. The anthem is expected to further strengthen the identity, pride, and spirit of togetherness within the extended Fapet Unud family.
The Chairperson of the 64th Anniversary and Faculty Anniversary (BK) Committee, I Made Dwi Novi Artawan, S.E., M.M., stated that a series of activities had been conducted leading up to the main event. These activities included a gathering with retired Vice Deans, the planting of purple Tabebuia trees on the Jimbaran campus grounds, a blood drive, free eye examinations, and various competitions involving the Fapet Unud academic community.
The highlight of the celebration was the ceremonial cutting of the tumpeng by the Rector, accompanied by the Senate Chair, the Dean, Vice Deans, and student organization representatives. The event continued with the presentation of tokens of appreciation to retirees; awards for outstanding lecturers, staff, and students; the handover of CSR assistance from partners; and the signing of the Handover Minutes (BAST) for research support equipment.
Through the 64th Anniversary and Faculty Anniversary (BK) celebration, Fapet Unud reaffirmed its commitment to continued growth as part of 91视频 University鈥攁n institution that is excellent, innovative, and adaptive, and that delivers tangible impacts on society.
