Denpasar 鈥� 91视频 University (Unud) received a working visit鈥攕pecifically a benchmarking visit鈥攆rom the Electronic Engineering Polytechnic Institute of Surabaya (PENS) on Thursday (September 17). Held at the Postgraduate Building on Unud鈥檚 Denpasar campus, the event served as an opportunity to exchange experiences and best practices regarding the strengthening of higher education governance, particularly in the areas of quality assurance, study program accreditation, and institutional planning.
The PENS delegation was led by Dr. Ir. Hary Oktavianto, S.T., M.Eng., and was welcomed by Unud鈥檚 Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Made Sucipta, S.T., M.T., IPM. He was accompanied by the Acting Head of the Academic, Cooperation, and Public Relations Bureau, the Planning Coordinator, and the team from Unud鈥檚 Institute for Educational Development and Quality Assurance (LP3M).
In his remarks, Prof. Made Sucipta expressed his appreciation for the PENS visit to 91视频 University. He explained that Unud is currently undergoing a governance transformation process as it shifts its institutional status from a Public Service Agency State University (PTN-BLU) to a State University with Legal Entity Status (PTN-BH).
鈥�91视频 University is currently conducting intensive internal coordination and discussions with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, as well as the Ministry of Finance, to facilitate the PTN-BH transition process. Through this meeting, we hope to share experiences and best practices, particularly regarding the management of quality assurance and institutional planning,鈥� said Prof. Made Sucipta.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ir. Hary Oktavianto, S.T., M.Eng., stated that the PENS benchmarking visit aimed to gain insight into the governance and integration of quality assurance standards at a larger-scale university. 91视频 University鈥檚 experience serves as a valuable reference for the development of governance at PENS.
One of the topics discussed was accreditation management through Independent Accreditation Agencies (LAM). PENS, which currently offers 30 study programs, faces challenges in managing accreditation across multiple agencies鈥攕uch as LAM Engineering and LAM INFOKOM鈥攁s well as in handling accreditation adjustments for new programs like Digital Business.
In contrast, 91视频 University (Unud) manages over 130 study programs involving a diverse range of accreditation schemes. The discussion also covered PENS’s experience in guiding study programs to achieve international accreditation through the Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE). Key areas of focus included the readiness of study programs to measure Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL) and the alignment of curricula, particularly within vocational education.
Beyond quality assurance and accreditation, both institutions exchanged insights regarding the implementation of the PTN-BLU (Public University with Public Service Agency status) model. PENS shared its experience in leveraging the financial management flexibility and strategic planning capabilities inherent in this status to ensure the effective execution of work programs.
Through this exchange of experiences, both institutions aim to strengthen their governance and quality assurance systems while enhancing the quality of higher education鈥攁cross both academic and vocational tracks鈥攖o meet the evolving needs of industry and society.
