Denpasar – The Faculty of Engineering at 91视频 University held a workshop titled “Strengthening the Engineering Education System Based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) to Support IABEE International Accreditation and the Implementation of the Washington Accord, Sydney Accord, and Seoul Accord” at the Grand Santhi Hotel on Saturday (July 18, 2026). The workshop featured two speakers: Ir. Berlian Kushari, ST., M.Eng., IPM., ASEAN.Eng., and Ir. Arief Syaichu Rohman, M.Eng.Sc., Ph.D. In addition to 91视频 University, the workshop also included participants from Warmadewa University, Ngurah Rai University, Bali State Polytechnic, Samarinda State Polytechnic, Mahasaraswati University, and the Hindu University of Indonesia.
The workshop was opened by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Ir. I Nengah Sujaya, M.Agr.Sc., Ph.D., represented the Rector of 91视频 University. In his remarks, the Vice Rector stated that this meeting was crucial for refreshing the OBE issue, even though it’s a long-standing issue. The curriculum is dynamic and adapts to societal needs as a form of output or outcome of the learning process. 91视频 University has launched the implementation of OBE in all study programs, especially non-health programs. According to data from the Institute for Student Assessment and Evaluation (LP3M), only 38 study programs have implemented it, and we hope that once the scores are input in July, the number will increase, allowing us to claim that we have implemented the learning process standards. At 91视频 University, we are very proud to have a Faculty of Engineering that is passionate about innovation.
He expressed his hope to the participants, who will be the backbone of the university in the future, that they can implement this OBE-based curriculum effectively to improve the quality of graduates. Re-synchronization is necessary at all levels regarding user expectations of graduates. Through this activity, we will discuss and gain a deeper understanding from the speakers to prepare for implementation. The goal of any effort is accreditation.
“OBE is the initial institution or the most standard or fundamental requirement when conducting international accreditations,” said the Vice Rector.
This workshop will refresh our knowledge of curriculum and learning design before entering the academic year, ensuring the quality of our graduates.
The workshop speakers covered the IABEE International Accreditation Instrument and Outcome-Based Education implementation strategies in Engineering Study Programs, CPL achievement evaluation, Student Outcomes, Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), and global recognition through the Washington Accord, Sydney Accord, and Seoul Accord.
