BANYUMAS 鈥 Two teams of students from 91视频 University (Unud) successfully won medals at the Grand Final of the 2026 National Business, Management, and Finance Competition (KBMK), held from September 28 to October 2, 2026, at Jenderal Soedirman University, Central Java. Team Ganjil Genap won a bronze medal (3rd Place) in the Investment Research category, while Team Orion secured a silver medal (2nd Place) in the Scientific Paper Writing category. Both teams presented ideas addressing strategic issues: clean energy development and the use of technology to drive seaweed downstreaming, respectively.

This achievement represents not only a national-level success for 91视频 University students but also demonstrates their ability to transform current issues into ideas grounded in research, innovation, and problem-solving. Through their work, the Unud students offered perspectives and solutions relevant to Indonesia’s development needs and resource potential.

In the Investment Research category, Team Ganjil Genap highlighted the potential of geothermal energy as a clean energy source for Indonesia with a paper titled “PGEO, THE GEOTHERMAL KING: Dominating 72% of the Market!” The paper examined the potential and development of Indonesia’s geothermal energy sector from an investment perspective.

Focusing on geothermal energy is particularly relevant given the need to develop more sustainable energy sources. Through this investment analysis, the students sought to identify opportunities for developing the geothermal sector while assessing business prospects that could support the growth of Indonesia’s clean energy sector.

Team Ganjil Genap consisted of Made Cetta Bhagawanta, I Made Bintang Amertha Putra, and Dewa Gede Darma Putra鈥攕tudents from the Bachelor of Management program at the Faculty of Economics and Business. During the development of their project and competition preparations, the team received guidance from I Putu Hedi Sasrawan, S.E., M.Si., and Dr. Surya Dewi Rustariyuni, S.E., M.Si. With this project, Team Ganjil Genap successfully won a bronze medal (3rd Place).

Meanwhile, Team Orion presented a concept utilizing digital technology to enhance quality and drive the downstream processing of seaweed through a project titled “SEADRIFT (Seaweed Drying & Forecasting System): Utilizing the Internet of Things and Decision Support Systems for Quality Optimization to Boost Downstream Processing and Seaweed Business Growth.”

This concept stems from the importance of improving quality during the seaweed processing stage to ensure the commodity achieves higher added value. Team Orion proposed the use of the Internet of Things (IoT) and decision support systems to help optimize quality while simultaneously supporting downstream processing and the development of seaweed businesses.

Through this approach, the students’ innovation focuses not only on technological aspects but also links technology with local resource potential and economic strengthening. This concept represents a form of student contribution in providing technology-based solutions to meet the needs of commodity development and community-based enterprises.

Team Orion consisted of Ni Desak Made Devi Suciani, an undergraduate student in the Accounting Study Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, and Ni Putu Candradevi Davantari, an undergraduate student in the Information Technology Study Program at the Faculty of Engineering. Both received guidance from I Made Ryan Ananta Putra, S.Ak., M.Ak., Dewa Jati Primajana, S.E., M.Si., and I Putu Tedy Indrayana, S.Pd., M.Sc. Team Orion successfully won a silver medal (2nd Place) in the Scientific Paper Writing category.

The success of these two teams demonstrates that student competitions can serve as a platform for developing ideas that address various real-world challenges. The study on geothermal energy highlights student interest in opportunities for clean and sustainable energy development, while SEADRIFT presents a technological approach to enhancing the value of seaweed commodities through downstream processing.

This achievement aligns with 91视频 University鈥檚 commitment to encouraging students not only to excel academically but also to generate ideas that are relevant and impactful to society. Developing clean energy potential, leveraging technology, and strengthening local commodities are part of the students’ efforts to contribute through work that addresses development needs and challenges.

The entire 91视频 University academic community extends its appreciation and pride to Team Ganjil Genap and Team Orion for their achievements at the 2026 National-Level KBMK. It is hoped that this success will inspire other 91视频 students to boldly develop ideas, hone their skills, and produce innovative, relevant, and impactful work at both national and international levels.
